There is a community in a dump in Managua, Nicaragua called La Chureca that is home to hundreds of people. Their lives are incomprehensible to you and me, bleak and without hope. They survive by pulling trash from the landfill and using or reselling it. They get their food, clothing and shelter by scavenging from the waste of the city.
The children who live in the dump are at high risk. Many of the girls, some as young as nine years old, are forced into prostitution as a means of survival. Some of the young boys go without food to make ends meet for themselves or other family members. And, the suicide rate is increasing among these troubled youth.
Together we can provide a future for these children! Won't you join us?
